I treat patients who have 4th stage cancer and most cases, not much longer for this world. Many of these patients joyfully speak of the adventures they’ve had and the ones they still wish for. They tell me about their loved ones, their daily routines and hopes for a cure and what they will do if they could be cured. There are other individuals who sadly express their desire to die quickly and painlessly with regrets of all the things they always aspired to do in life, but never did for a number of reasons.
Life is short, folks. Happy and fulfilled people are said to live longer and healthier than those who are inhibited, unfulfilled and never live their dreams. Many of us have seen the film “The Bucket List”; if you haven’t I suggest you view it…it is a film filled with laughter, joy, the most unlikely of friendships, and clear messages about life and living Life.
Create Your Bucket List!
Make a list of all the things that you would like to do in life – big to small; earth moving to insignificant…it doesn’t matter. Whatever will give you joy should be on that list. Write it down, print it out, and keep it someplace where you can check off what you’ve done on that list. Here’s what will happen:
You will smile more. This leads to less stress. Less stress leads to better cardiovascular health. Better cardiovascular health promotes a strong immune system. A strong immune system can better fight cancer cells building in our bodies every day; this can lead to a longer and healthier life. A smiling, healthier person will attract good energy and soon, your life will be filled with more joy, new friends and more items to add to your Bucket List.
Pretty easy, isn’t it? Try it on, pass this blog on….and may you all have joy in your lives!
